Mission Ridge ski resort is located east of Seattle, in Washington state. The beautiful Wenatchee National Forest and North Cascade Mountain host this family-friendly and affordable resort. The ski slopes at the resort offer runs for all abilities. Mission Ridge ski resort is renowned for its sunny days 300 days a year and drier/lighter snow than many resorts in the northwestern US.
The town of Wenatchee 20 kilometers from the slopes provides most of the accommodation, facilities (over 30 restaurants and lounges), and services for the resort. Leavenworth, 32 kilometers away, is also a viable alternative for accommodation and recreation. Basic facilities exist at the base of the mountain and include a ski shop, rental and repair shop, convention center, first-aid and a restaurant. Mid-mountain, you will find a cafe and barbecue. Ski and snowboard classes, along with a kids’ ski school are available. A childcare facility can take children from three months to six years of age.
Mission Ridge ski resort has 35 pistes covering 364 hectares of skiable terrain. Most of the pistes are for intermediate and advanced/expert levels of skiers. Six lifts (four double chairs and two tow ropes) operate on the mountain and are able to carry up to 4,300 people an hour. Snow making machines provide 81 hectares of snow cover.
The only lodging facility available on the slopes is a self-contained camper parking area. Hotels, lodges and bed-and-breakfasts are 20 kilometers away in Wenatchee and slightly farther away in Leavenworth. Après-ski can be enjoyed at the base area restaurant and at Wenatchee and Leavenworth (modeled on a Bavarian theme) in a variety of restaurants and bars with live music.
Seattle is often called the ‘Emerald City’ and is the main city in the area. It offers an exciting break from the pistes, day or night. Views from the top of the landmark Space Needle are spectacular, and a lively nightlife scene will make your stay all the more worthwhile.
